Driver education doesn’t have to stop after someone obtains his or her license. In fact, we at McSweeney & Ricci Insurance Agency believe that it shouldn’t stop.
A proven way for all people to improve their driving skills is through In Control’s Crash Prevention Training. McSweeney & Ricci is a proud sponsor of In Control, a 4 ½ hour,hands-on, closed course defensive driving program, designed to teach drivers the appropriate way to respond to unavoidable, real-life road situations. The course instills lifelong attitudes that result in safer drivers. In 2007, their program was recognized as the 1st State Certified Driver Skills Development program in the country. The training is held on numerous sites across Massachusetts, including the former Weymouth Naval Air Station. The training includes tailgating drills, steering and speed control drills, in addition to classroom learning and group discussion.
In an effort to keep drivers safe in Massachusetts, McSweeney & Ricci has joined forces with In Control, and has sponsored numerous training sessions for students from Marshfield, Scituate, and Braintree High Schools, as well as Notre Dame Academy. McSweeney & Ricci has also sponsored sessions of the training for our personal and commercial auto insurance clients. To date, we have made it possible for over 250 drivers to benefit from the program. In addition, the McSweeney & Ricci staff has attended the training and found it to be an invaluable learning experience.
Our commitment to In Control continued this summer, as McSweeney & Ricci sponsored the Second Annual Driving to Save Lives Golf Classic at Hatherly Country Club in North Scituate on Monday, June 8th. Ninety-five golfers participated along with our generous sponsors and helped to raise over $14,000. All proceeds from the event will benefits South Shore teens to attend a session with In Control. Our goal is to train as many students as possible in an effort to ensure driving safety among teens.
